At Haute Lunch we understand your concerns about potential allergens in the foods you eat. Our primary goal is to provide accurate information on the packaging of each product. To do this, we carefully manage the ingredients we buy and how we prepare our products. We do not use Nuts or Tree nuts in any preparations for our school lunch program. However, there may be traces in some of the products we purchase from other vendors.
While we take extreme cautions to minimize the risk of cross contamination, we cannot guarantee that any of our products are safe to consume for people with milk, egg or wheat allergies. However even when it is not required by local regulation, if there is a risk to allergic consumers due to the presence of a major allergen in a product, we will declare its presence on the packaging of that product. We will also provide information through the use of a so-called ‘may contain’ statement. The use of this statement is part of a program to manage the presence of allergens across everything we do, from ingredients, manufacturing, to finished products. We do everything we can to eliminate unintentional allergens, and we only use the ‘may contain’ statement when there is a real risk, albeit low, to an allergic consumer.
Both ‘contains’ and ‘may contain’ mean that if you are sensitive to the specific allergen(s), no matter which way it is listed on the package, you should avoid the product.
If you have allergy concerns, it is important to carefully read the information on each package. Ingredient and allergen information listed on a package is only for the food contained in that package. It is not intended for other packages even of what appears to be the same product. Ingredients may vary from one package to another due to product reformulation or where the product is produced.
Our kitchen offers products with tree nuts, butter, and eggs. While we take steps to minimize the risk of cross contamination, we cannot guarantee that any of our products are safe to consume for people with peanut, tree nut, soy, milk, egg or wheat allergies.”
At Haute Lunch Catering, we make every effort to identify ingredients that may cause allergic reactions for those individuals with food allergies. Items marked gluten friendly are made with no gluten-containing ingredients. Effort is made to instruct our food production staff on the severity of food allergies. However, there is always a risk of contamination. There is also a possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change the formulation at any time, without notice.
Customers concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this risk. Haute Lunch Catering will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to food consumed, or items one may come in contact with while eating our products.
Please be advised consuming raw, cooked to order or under-cooked meat, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs may increase your risk of food borne illnesses, especially if you have certain medical conditions.
Naturally, thoroughly cooking meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs reduces the risk of food borne illnesses.
